Owen Mardis Obituary

Owen was born June 19, 1952, in Newcomerstown to the late Owen E. Mardis Sr. and Marion D. (McCoy) Mardis. Owen honorably served in the Army from 1971 to 1974 and was awarded a defense medal for marksmanship in the Army. He loved collecting guns, and enjoyed doing yard work and fixing lawn mowers.
He is survived by his daughter Amanda Mardis (David Lanham Jr.); his grandchildren Cadence Moore and Braden Moore; his great-grandson Mason Palmer; his sister Teresa (Steve) Price; his close cousins Patrick Mardis, and Phillip Mardis; his nieces and nephews Sherri (Tolly) Lawrence, Cindy (Greg) Biolcati Rinaldi, James Griffin, Wayne Griffin, Lisa Schaefer, John Griffin, Ann Mardis, and Beau Mardis; and many other extended family.
Owen was preceded in death by his former wife Barbara Mardis; his nephew Paul C. Mardis Jr.; and his siblings Paul Mardis and Kenneth Mardis, and a twin that passed at birth.
A Celebration of Owen's life will be announced at a later date. He will be laid to rest in West Lawn Cemetery alongside other veterans.
