Pablo Laguna Obituary

Pablo Laguna, fondly known as Pablito, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 94 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 17 days after the passing of his beloved wife. Born on January 25, 1931, in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and with a strong biblical upbringing, Pablo's life was a testament to hard work with an unwavering love of God, family and people.

Pablo was one of 14 children and at a young age left school to help support the family. In Puerto Rico, and with much compassion, early works consisted of delivering drinking water to men laboring in the sugarcane fields and opening a small shack store selling goods to local residents, sparing them the long trip to the city. This dedicated spirit of humility would follow him as he migrated to the United States…first finding employment on the railroad then making a move to Milwaukee working at the Schroeder Hotel followed by a remarkable 30-plus year career at Patrick Cudahy, where his dedication and hard work solidified his reputation as a dependable employee. He was blessed with the ability to start his own family in a new home.

He shared 65 years and 10 days of marriage with his loving wife Lourdes (Lu) raising their children, Michelle (Dan) McCue, and Richard Laguna (Wendy Morgese). Pablo also loved his role as grandpa to Olivia Rose McCue, whom he just adored.

At an early age, Pablo developed a deep love of music, taught and nurtured by his father and siblings that later resulted in his forming a band that performed regularly on Milwaukee’s South side. He also developed stellar culinary skills, and became known for his traditional Puerto Rican dishes, especially arroz con gandules and pernil. The music, the food along with Pablo’s warmth and welcoming nature he extended to family and friends created the most memorable Christmas Eve and New Year's celebrations for decades.

In addition to his children, Pablo is survived by his cherished siblings, Isabel (Maria Isabel) Laguna, Melania Miranda, Emerita Baez and Gladys Rivera, along with countless nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lourdes Laguna, mother, Maria Laguna, father, Catalino Laguna and his siblings Dama, Nicanor, Esmeralda, Francisco, Pola, Alberto and three that preceded in death at early childhood.

A visitation will be held at Old Saint Mary Parish in Milwaukee on November 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM, followed by a Mass starting at 10:00 AM and concluding at 11:00 AM, offering family and friends an opportunity to celebrate Pablo’s incredible life. The burial will follow at approximately 12:00 PM at Saint Adalbert’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pablo Laguna will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, and for the love and laughter he brought into the lives of those he touched. His legacy of care, faith, and family will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
