A Celebration of Life

PABLO RODRIGUEZ ROSARIO

After an exemplary life filled with love, family, and friends - and with a talent for telling corny dad jokes - Pablo Rodriguez Rosario passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida. A gleam in his eye and joy defined his life.

Born on January 26, 1946, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, Pablo's passion for his place of birth remained unwavering throughout his life. Unafraid to take risks or seek opportunities and adventure, in 1962 at age sixteen, Pablo traveled alone from his beloved Puerto Rico to New York. Ambitious and hardworking, for the next twenty-two years in New York and New Jersey, he worked in a variety of positions, including the West Point Academy, before fulfilling his dream of small business ownership. As a married father of two daughters and with a desire to instill in his children an appreciation for their culture and heritage, in 1984, he returned to Puerto Rico with his family. For the next twenty years, he worked as a security guard with the State University of Puerto Rico and built a wonderful life.

Pablo's beloved wife of 43 years, Gladys Rodriguez, preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughters Lee Ann Rodriguez (Omar Santiago); Letisia Rodriguez (Rene Diaz); grandchildren Sendylee Bravo, Gleneree Diaz, and Yael Santiago; and two great-grandchildren, Shenniel Rivera and Gialee Rosa.

In addition to his joke-telling skills, he enjoyed cooking, baseball, politics, walking four miles daily, and spending time with family and friends. Sustained by his Catholic faith, he prayed a rosary nearly every night of his life. Quietly generous, he gave his time and treasure to many organizations and charities throughout his life, particularly those that support the US military and veterans; law enforcement; children; health care; and his faith. These include the Wounded Warrior Project, United Service Organization (USO), Florida Sheriff's Association, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Christian Appalachian Project (CAP), National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, Food for the Poor, and Disabled Veterans National Foundation.

After retirement, Pablo moved to Florida for family where he lived until his passing. For the last ten years, he lived with his daughter Lee Ann, son-in-law Omar, and grandson Yael, with three generations learning and growing together under one roof.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions in Pablo's honor to Florida Sheriff's Association, Food for the Poor, or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Rest in peace, dear Dad. Your love, your teachings, and your example will live forever in our hearts. May God hold you in His glory.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1 PM with a Service to begin at 2 PM with viewing hours to continue afterwards until 4 PM, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34207.
