Obituary of Palmira C. Ferry

Palmira (Calvani) Ferry, 95, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 3, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry W. Ferry Jr.

Born in Hartford, Palmira was the daughter of the late Eduardo and Concetta (Milighetti) Calvani. Family was the most important part of her life and she loved and cherished each member of the family. Many in the family will always remember the Thanksgiving dinners at her home. She was always willing to help people any way she could with her cheerful demeanor and beautiful smile. In her youth she volunteered for the Red Cross as a Gray Lady at the Newington VA Hospital where one of her duties was visiting with TB patients. She was also a long-time supporter of the House of Bread in Hartford.

Palmira is survived by her daughter Deborah Ferry of Glastonbury, nephews Wayne Roggi (Carla), Curtis Roggi (Terry Harris), James Quish (Carol), David Burnham, and nieces Kathy (Quish) Socolosky (Stephen), Nancy Anderson (Michael) and Terry Zabiski (Jerome). She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews including Henry Roggi (Natasha),Josephine Chase (William), Donna Roggi, and Susan Roggi (Spencer Wohl), and sisters in law, Anne Torrance and Beatrice Burnham. She was predeceased by her sisters

Josephine Roggi and Eleonora Shippy.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Road, Glastonbury. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the House of Bread, 27 Chestnut St., Hartford, CT 06120. For online condolences, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
