Pam Scott

Pamela McCraw Scott, loving wife of Joseph Lee Scott for 51 years, passed away peacefully in her daughter's arms and with her husband by her side on the morning of Wednesday, February 4th, 2026 at age 69. Pam was born at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, daughter of the late John Kethel McCraw and LeNora Freeman McCraw.

Pam was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend. At the end of 2021 after over four decades, she retired from her position as National Sales Director for the promotional products division, a division she started at Carolina Manufacturing. She traveled all over the country as part of her job, and Joe and Julie were able to join her on many occasions, spending quality time and making priceless memories together. When in her home state, she enjoyed visiting the beach with her family every summer, and after retirement she spent even more time at the beach with her best friends. Pam enjoyed soap operas and game shows while in her free time. She also enjoyed watching most any kind of sport, especially football and basketball, and she and Joe could be found searching for the best "game" to watch on any given weekend. She was very passionate about Duke Basketball and enjoyed attending games with her family as much as she could. Only two years ago, she planned an entire Christmas trip to NYC around being able to secure tickets to a Duke Basketball game at Madison Square Gardens; it was truly the best Christmas! Pam cherished time with her family and friends above all.

Pam was her daughter's biggest fan, from cheering her on at every basketball game and dance competition during her early and teen years, and later in life, motherhood. She was the best team mom to the Lady Trojans, and also the bonus mom to any of Julie's friends who needed that support. She was her daughter's best friend and biggest confidant. Her guidance and wisdom, late night texts, phone calls and sharing of reels are already missed. One of the greatest joys in her life was being called Nana by her three grandchildren. She would say the best part of being a mom was when she became a Nana.

Pam is survived by her husband, Joe, as well as her daughter, Julie Addis and son-in-law Joel Addis; three grandchildren, Isabella Addis, Andrew Addis, and Natalie Addis; sister Donna Wilson (Chuck); sister-in-law Kay Atwood; a very special niece and nephew, Pamela Brown (Jon) and Johnathon Wheatley; and many other cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Sofia Isabella in April of this year. Pam was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she met her life-long best friends' group who will no doubt carry her memory forward.

Nana was the sun and she shined on everyone in her presence. She was perfect in the eyes of everyone who knew her. She enjoyed music, specifically listening to Patsy Cline and James Taylor, or anything her grandson, Andrew, was performing. She made the best brownies and shared the best stories. She embodied determination, resilience, independence, and stubbornness which she absolutely inherited from her mother (traits also given to her daughter and granddaughters). Gift giving was her ultimate love language, but you knew that she cared and loved you just from her beautiful smile. Her presence will be dearly missed and the world will not be the same without her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Salem United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 12:00 pm. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service. Click this link to view the livestream (password 12345).
