Pamela Delores Blackwell-Hallmon
Pamela Delores Blackwell-Hallmon was born on September 27, 1954, in Denver, Colorado, to her parents, Willie Henry Blackwell and Ethel Linnie Slay Blackwell. She was the fifth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Leon, Carl, Johnny Ray, and her sisters, Joyce, Dinah, Sandra, and Brenda. As a child, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cleaning, crocheting, cooking, and dancing. Pam was an extremely neat person. She would not only clean, but she also changed the furniture around in the room, and if the lights were not on, her sisters would bump into the furniture.
Pamela received her early education in Denver, Colorado, attending Manual High School. Pamela married Verble Dean Hallmon in Commerce City. They first met while attending a social gathering. She was the proud mother of sons Charles, DeShon, David; and daughters Shannon, Nakia, April, Latasha, Myisha, Taytiana, and Barbara. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who took great pride in the care and nurture of her family. She was later blessed with sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "Granny" and fondly remembers all the happy and precious moments they shared together. She shared a special closeness with her granddaughter, Yushia Cooper.
By profession, Pamela was a Homemaker who was a true caregiver who took great care of the home she provided for her family. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Pamela was a member of Genesis Baptist Church located in Denver, Colorado. She believed in the power of prayer and having the right relationship with the Lord. She joined the church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend J. Brown.
Pamela was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, piece puzzles, watching her soap operas, and spending time with her husband and children in her free time. Her closest friends, her sister, Sandy, her sister-in-law, Carol Thompson, and her husband, Verble Dean Hallmon, will all miss the happy and memorable moments they shared together. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman who carried a spunky personality. To know Pamela was to love her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ethel Blackwell, and a brother, Carl Henry Blackwell.
Pamela Delores Blackwell-Hallmon departed this life on January 11, 2022, in Thornton, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Verble Dean Hallmon; three sons, Charles Thompson, III, DeShon L. Blackwell, David C. (Velma) Hallmon; seven daughters; Shannon L. (Kenyetta) Yarber, Nakia R. Thompson, April R. Thompson, Myisha T. Barlow, Taytiana S. Anderson, and Barbara D. (Kenneth) Hallmon Bryant; two brothers, Leon C. (Rodoris) Blackwell and Johnny R. (Eva) Blackwell; four sisters, Joyce A. (Willie) Joseph, Dinah F. Blackwell Graham, Sandra Y. Blackwell, and Brenda F. Mumford; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; her uncle, Deacon James C. (Loubertha) Slay; two aunts, Shirley D. Blackmon and Doris Slay; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
