With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pamela Kay Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. Pam passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 62.
Pam was born on October 19, 1962, to Jim and Francie Read. She had a deep and abiding faith in God, and her faith guided her throughout her life. Pam married the love of her life, Thomas Brown, on June 2, 1984. She enjoyed working with Tom on the family farm. Together, they built a strong and loving family, which was the center of her world.
As a devoted mother to Erica and Jonathan, Pam found endless joy in watching her children grow. She made the conscious decision to homeschool her children, dedicating herself to their education and ensuring they received the guidance and love they needed to thrive. Her pride and love for them knew no bounds.
She cherished her role as a grandmother to Ava, Kyler, and Wyatt, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren, whether they were crafting lasting memories on holidays or simply enjoying quiet moments together. The love she shared with her grandchildren was a bond that will never be broken.
Pam was a loving daughter to Jim and Francie Read and a beloved sister to Nyhma Tramel. She shared a special, close-knit relationship with her family, and her memory will be forever cherished by them.
In addition to her family, Pam had a creative and artistic side that she expressed through her passion for scrapbooking. She loved capturing the beauty of life’s moments and preserving them for generations to come. Her scrapbooks are filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to see them.
Pam was also a dedicated member of the community. A proud graduate of Limon High School’s class of 1981, she was inducted into the National Honor Society and went on to earn an associate’s degree from Northeastern Junior College in 1983. From her first job at the Dairy Snack at age14 to her 13-year long career at Production Credit Association, now Farm Credit, Pam worked tirelessly to serve her community. She served as secretary for the Lincoln County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and was a member of the Book Mobile Board. Pam was a charter member of the Hi-Plains Baptist Church, where she volunteered for many years, often helping in the church kitchen and supporting other church activities. Her service to her community and her church was an extension of the love and kindness she showed to everyone she met.
Pam’s legacy of faith, kindness, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her gentle spirit, unwavering devotion to her loved ones, and deep faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband Tom Brown; daughter Erica Barry, her husband Dylan and their children Ava, Kyler, and Wyatt Barry; Jonathan Brown and his wife Brianna; parents Jim and Francie Read; sister Nyhma Tramel and her husband Glenn; Mother-in-law Barbara Brown; sister-in-law Alicia Matoba and her husband Bob; brother-in-law Tim Brown and his wife Johanna; 5 nephews, 1 niece, 2 aunts; and 5 cousins.
A celebration of Pam’s life will be held beginning with a visitation at Love Funeral Home in Limon on April 21st from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Followed by a service held at the HiPlains Baptist Church on April 22nd at 10:00am. The internment will take place at Pershing Cemetery immediately after the service.
