Pamela Dusenbery Obituary

Pamela Dusenbery

January 26, 1949 - July 27, 2025

Wichita, Kansas - Pam Dusenbery, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud slot machine enthusiast, who passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 76.

Pam lived for her family. She was the heart of the Dusenbery home - always offering comfort, support, and a safe place for those she loved. Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her loved ones, especially her adored granddaughter Regan, who brought endless light into her life.

Pam shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bill Dusenbery. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and enduring commitment. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. She was a devoted mother to Troy Dusenbery and a loving mother-in-law to Brandi, with whom she shared a close and special relationship.

Pam had a fondness for slot machines - not for fortune, but for the thrill, the fun, and the good company. Whether she walked away with a jackpot or just a story to tell, she always played with a sparkle in her eye and a smile on her face.

She will be remembered for her kindness, generous heart, and the way she made people feel truly loved. Pam created a life filled with meaningful moments that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Bill, son Troy, daughter-in-law Brandi, and granddaughter Regan, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

At Pam's request, there will be no formal service. Her family encourages those who knew her to remember her in their own way - by sharing a memory, embracing a spontaneous adventure, or taking a spin at the slots in her honor.

Hi Bill,
I am so, so sorry for your loss. I was skimming through the obits and saw the name "Dusenbery". I immediately had to check it out. I can only imagine how you must feel. I can't say I know how you feel because I have not experienced the loss of a spouse. But my heart aches for and with you. I am thinking of you, my friend and hope God comforts your heart and soul in this difficult time. I don'think I have seen you for a while but I lost my son 2 years ago next Thursday, 9 Oct 2023. That was pretty tough. Please accept and pass on my most heartfelt, sincerest condolences to your family and you of course. Hope to see you soon.

Pam did love the slot machines. We traveled many times to Breckenridge, Colorado with Dusenbery´s and other St. Joseph families. One year the ladies decided on a day trip to Black Hawk and visit the casinos. We walk in and Pam heads over to the dollar machine. She starts playing and here comes the first drop of coins. This happens again & again until she hits$100. Then Lady Luck starts taking the money back & before our eyes Pam is back to one dollar. She picks up her coin and says let´s go. I said you just lost one hundred dollars!! She looks at me and said I came with a dollar and I am leaving with a dollar and I had a great time. We take a couple of steps, stops looks at me again and says but don´t you ever tell Billy about this. (Until right now. )So many great memories with this great lady. Wish I could share them all. Rest In Peace my friend.

We extend our sincere condolences to Billy, Troy, Brandi and all of her family and friends. We knew Pam from church and always enjoyed her warmth and good humor. Her laugh was infectious. She was always a WINNER and she will be missed.

Bill I am sorry for the loss of Pam She was a great woman I thought of you two at the end of that Ford truck you drove. I think you called Pam and asked of she would bring the pickup and pull you after the tranny went out which she did I don't know how but you told me about it.
