Pamela Sue Hicks

Pamela S. Hicks, age 72, of Lake City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at her home surrounded by family after a long-term illness. Pam was born on December 25, 1953, in Sac City, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur E. and Thelma D. (Jarvis) Lietz.

Pam's childhood was spent growing up in Yetter, Iowa. She attended school in Lake City, Iowa, and continued her education at Bernell College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, in Cosmetology. She then went on to practice her trade in Yetter, Iowa, for many years. She then went on to work at Opportunity Living as a cook for another 10 years. She then decided to continue her love of cooking and serving others by working at the Wagon Wheel for many years, which followed with her becoming the sole proprietor.

Pam married Roger Hicks on February 17, 1983. They had two sons, Adam and Cody. Pam and Roger continued their life as partners in their business at the Wagon Wheel for 19 years.

Pam loved cooking for others and maybe winning a chili cook-off. But on a rare day off, you might find her enjoying a day at the casino or on a girls' shopping excursion. She loved fishing for the big catch. But over the years, she loved her travels with her husband, sister, brother-in-law, and close friends to getaway destinations. But Pam's most treasured love was her family and friends. If you were blessed to know her, you would know she had the most enormous heart for giving to others. We will always remember that quick wit and big smile, and she will be sorely missed.

Pam is survived by her husband, Roger Hicks; children, Adam (Lacey) Hicks, Cody (Aspen) Hicks; grandchildren, Sutton Hicks, Brycen, Brianna, and Gracie. Siblings: Vicky (Bill) Albertsen of Milford, Iowa, Mark (Cathy) Lietz of Yetter, Iowa, and Mike (Jodi) Lietz of Yetter, Iowa. Her bonus grandchildren: Jaylee, Blakelynn, and Remi. Nieces and nephews: Jocelyn, Jordan, Troy, Jesse, and Alexis.

Pam was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Lietz, mother, Thelma Lietz (Jarvis), brother, Charlie Lietz.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the Lampe and Powers Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery. A full obituary will be posted soon.
