Mrs. Pamela Kaye Kearney, 61 of Rocky Mount, North Carolina transitioned on November 4, 2022.
Pamela Kaye Kearney, affectionately known as Pam, departed this life on November 4, 2022 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. Pamela was born to the late Paul and Wilhemena Kearney of Cofield, NC on September 21, 1961.
Pamela attended the public schools of Hertford County and graduated from Ahoskie High School. She also attended and graduated from Roanoke Chowan Technical College and Edgecombe Community College. She enjoyed many careers but found her passion in the medical field. She enjoyed a rich and fulfilling career as a CNAII until her health no longer allowed her to work.
Pamela was a member of the Pride of Rocky Mount #654 chapter of Eastern Star in Rocky Mount, NC. She was also a member of Milton F. Fitch Assembly #43 Golden Circle in Wilson, NC. Pam was well-versed individual who loved life. She enjoyed fishing and gardening and was an amazing cook. Pam enjoyed music and moving to the beat. She loved pets and was especially fond of dogs. Pam loved many crafts, but crocheting was her favorite. She made many afghans, baby blankets, and other crocheted items for others. In her youth, Pamela attended the Church of The Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. She later renewed her faith, was baptized at a local church, and attended until COVID and her health prevented it.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest brother, Cleophas J. Kearney.
Left to cherish Pamela's memories are her beloved son, Terrence D. Kearney, Sr.; grandson, Terrence Kearney, Jr.; sisters: Otelia K. Newsome (Alvin D. Newsome), Artine K. Cooper, and Minister Paulette Kearney; brothers: Paul Kearney, Jr. (Carmen Kearney) and Kelvin P. Kearney; uncle, Charles Rosser (Wilma Rosser); goddaughter, Lashell Pitts; lifelong sister-friend Barbara Ann Eley, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. She also leaves a multitude of incredibly special friends, fishing partners, travel buddies, and great neighbors.
A Visitation will be held for Mrs. Kearney on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church located at 702 W. Raleigh Blvd.Rocky Mount, North Carolina. A Celebration of Her Life will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. The interment will be private.
