Obituary of Pamela Ann Pettee
Pamela Ann Pettee (Miller), age 67, of Venice passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022 surrounded by family after battling cancer. "Pam," a light to all, held many roles in which she excelled: wife, mother, daughter, grandmother(Mimi), sister, colleague and friend. She was born on the 4th of July in 1955 to Mary O. (Rinna) and Richard W. Miller in Toledo, Ohio. One of nine children, and the first girl, she always knew the value of family. On October 20th, 1979, she married her high school sweetheart, John Pettee, and they recently celebrated 43 years of marriage. They have three children: Zachary (Lindsey), Jacob (Jennifer), and Mallory as well as four grandchildren: Audrey, Micah, Colton, and Lucy.
Pam is well known for her unwavering faith in Christ, her big heart, and her vibrant personality. She started her nursing career in 1977 at the Ruppert Pediatric clinic at the former Medical College of Ohio. She felt she was called to pediatric oncology and accepted a position at St. Vincent's Mercy Children's Hospital where she guided & helped families during their most trying times as a case manager. In July of 2020, she retired after 43 years in nursing and relocated to Venice, Florida. She enjoyed two amazing years of retirement with new friends in sunny Florida. Words fail to capture her beautiful spirit and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary, her brother Mark, her nephew, Tommy Miller Jr., and granddaughters Natalie & Brooklyn. Left to celebrate her heart & legacy is her husband John, children Zachary (Lindsey), Jacob (Jennifer), and Mallory; brothers: Buddy (Kay), Patrick (Jean), Michael (Dawn), Jan, Tommy (Marsha); sisters: Mary Jo (Kevin) Baucom, Janenne Marcus; Four grandchildren Audrey, Micah, Colton, & Lucy; brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; cousins; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and all her many friends.
Friends may visit at the Farley Funeral Home, 265 S. Nokomis Ave. Venice, FL 34285, on Thursday, November 3rd from 10am-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CureSearch https://curesearch.org/get-involved/donate-to-childrens-cancer-research/ or St. Baldricks https://www.stbaldricks.org/ways-to-give. Both are superb charities geared towards pediatric cancer research. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and entire staff at Moffitt Cancer Center Tampa for their compassion & care.

This is Rick and Sue Clark's daughter (Michelle Clark). Pam and John mean so much to my parents. From a young age I remember hearing about their friendship and having the pleasure to meet both Pam and John. I am deeply sorry to hear of Pam's passing. We should never have to lose our loved ones early - especially from cancer. Sending this message to share my love and sympathy.

Love,
Michelle / The Clark family
