Pamela "Pam" Ann Quick, 69, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2023. Pam was born on October 7, 1954 in Manistique, Michigan to her parents, John Paul and Marcella Quick. Pam attended Manistique Area Schools and graduated from MHS with the class of 1973. She went on to receive her nursing degree in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
It is no coincidence she followed in her mother's footsteps and became a registered nurse, as compassion and kindness were always her strengths. Whether it was a patient, family member, stranger or a friend, Pam always put others first, making them feel safe and well taken care of.
Some of Pam's happiest days were spent at Dodge Lake, swimming across the water, taking a pontoon sunset cruise with family, or chasing turkeys away in the fall. Pam made us laugh, brightened our day and warmed our soul. Pam's beautiful blue eyes and big smile would light up a room, but it was her gigantic heart that pulled you in and never let go; saying goodbye will not be easy. Embodying her gifts of kindness, acceptance, selflessness and of course always keeping a clean and tidy kitchen will allow her spirit to live on. We can't believe she's gone - Holy Wah!
Pam is survived by her son Steven Berghoef of Brooklyn, NY and daughters Sara Berghoef of Traverse City, MI and Katie Berghoef (Ryan Kuipers) of Lowell, MI; stepson Taylor Balczak of Grand Rapids, MI and stepdaughter Paige Balczak of Greenville, MI; brother John (Christy) Quick of Battle Creek, MI and sister Paula Quick; niece Kaylee Cooper, of Milwaukee, WI; seven grandchildren: Mason Brown, Madison Brown, Asher Sander, Zayde Sander, Everly Jones, Davon Jones and Thealora Jones and her loving partner and boyfriend Ray Dorie of Sturgeon Bay.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents John Paul and Marcella Quick.
A graveside service of Christian burial will take place at the Hiawatha Cemetery on May 3, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to support Pam's daughter, Katie, in her fight against ALS. Donations can be made to the Susan Mast ALS Foundation supporting West Michigan (https://www.susanmastals.org/donation/) or by contributing to Katie directly with a check donation to the "Discretionary Trust FBO Katie Berghoef." Checks to the Trust can be mailed to: 204 West St., Lowell, MI 49331.
Fausett Family Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
