The memory of the late Pamela A. Henderson Reed will be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Proverbs 31:10-31
Pamela, a native of McIntosh, Alabama, departed this life peacefully at her home on January 8, 2025. Born June 20, 1961, to Herbert Henderson and the late Artelia Henderson, she was blessed to live a fulfilled life of sixty-three years.
Pamela was an enthusiastic and faithful member of New Beginning Apostolic Church. She loved her church, and when she was physically able, she served on the usher board and in the department of hospitality. Pamela was a devoted Christian and a faithful prayer warrior who found great joy in interceding for others. Her unwavering faith and compassionate heart touched countless lives as she fervently prayed for the needs of her family, friends, and community. Pamela's life was a testament to her deep love for God and her commitment to sharing His grace and hope with those around her. She had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, even throughout her illness.
She was gifted in many areas, and to her children, she could basically do anything–a "Jill of All Trades." Cooking was among her many talents and hobbies. Pamela loved to cook, and she was great at it. She would often exchange recipes and prepare meals where the love could be savored in every bite. She enjoyed being a homemaker–whether it was cooking, sewing, decorating, or shopping. To those who may not have known her well, Pamela may have appeared soft spoken, but those close to her knew that there were moments with her that would be filled with both laughter and inspiration from her testimony.
Pamela took pride in being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She dedicated her life to those roles. She was known for her unwavering love and commitment to her family. She instilled devout values into her home and supported her children relentlessly. She was a devoted wife of 41 years to the love of her life, Charlie, and a "daddy's girl" to her father, Herbert. She was a pillar of strength and support to her family, always prioritizing the well-being of her spouse and children.
She was a proud alumna of Citronelle High School.
Pamela was preceded in death by her mother, Artelia Henderson; brother, Herbert Henderson Jr.; father in law, Charlie Lee Reed Sr.; mother in law, Irene Reed; and sister in law, Annie Adams.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband, Charlie Reed Jr., of McIntosh, AL; father, Herbert Hoover Henderson Sr., of Mt. Vernon, AL; four devoted daughters: Adrienne (Justin) Sims, Ambria Reed, and Arlisha Reed, all of Mobile, Alabama; LaShanda Stewart, of Atwood, Tennessee; her grandson, Avery Hart, and great-granddaughter, Averya Burnett, of Milan, Tennessee; four devoted sisters: Ruth Ann (Elias) Lumpkins of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Barbara Barnes of Madison, Alabama, Carolyn (James) Hudson of Satsuma, Alabama, and Sandra (Rutland) Tolbert of McIntosh, Alabama; two devoted brothers: Brian (Nana) Henderson and Stanley (Karen) Henderson, both of Mt. Vernon, Alabama; five devoted sisters-in-law: Darlene Reed, Chesteen (Wesley) Barnes, Jacqueline Jones, Wendy (Jansen) Williams, all of McIntosh, Alabama, and Loretta McDonald of Helena, Alabama; three devoted brothers-in-law: Frankie (Mary) Hall of Boston, Massachusetts, Mint (Deborah) Reed, and Charles Reed, all of McIntosh, Alabama; one devoted Godchild, Jeffery Sullivan, of Mobile, Alabama; two honorary Godchildren: Jeffery Sullivan Jr. and Terrence Adams Jr., both of McIntosh, Alabama; one devoted "bonus" son, Kylen Rodgers of Mobile, Alabama; two "bonus" grandchildren: Kasyn Jru Walker of Mobile, Alabama, and Braylon Jordan of Madison, Alabama. Additionally, she has a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, church family, former co-workers, and healthcare providers who will fondly remember her.
Pamela will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her steadfast devotion and selfless spirit.
