Pamela R. Turnblom

Pamela Rider Turnblom passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. Born in Dansville, New York, on February 27, 1947, she was predeceased by her loving grandparents Laura and Laverne Morrell and devoted parents Robert and Evelyn Rider. She is survived by her beloved children, Laura (Jeremy) Darman and Justin (Monica) Turnblom, and her cherished granddaughters, Julia and Kirsten Darman.

Pamela was a graduate of Elmira College and received her masters at Columbia University. A lifelong lover of the arts, she found deep joy in classical music especially baroque, choral works, and romantic era operas. For many years, she ran her own design firm, Turnblom Interiors, earning recognition and awards for her elegant and thoughtful work. Her designs graced numerous homes throughout the region and reflected her refined taste and creativity.

Pamela was a devoted believer in community service and gave generously of her time and talents. Over the years, she contributed to many organizations, including the Junior League of Rochester, the Memorial Art Gallery, and Isaiah House of Rochester. Her commitment to these causes reflected her compassion, her belief in the power of art and community, and her desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Gardening was her quiet meditation. Surrounded by the color and fragrance of her English flower gardens, she found peace and purpose in nurturing beauty from the earth, season after season. An avid reader and lover of poetry, Pamela's curiosity and intellect were matched by her warmth and wit. She shared her life with her most loyal companion, her cat Milo. Her happiest place was Wellfleet on Cape Cod, where she found peace and inspiration by the sea. Above all, Pamela loved her family and friends deeply, and her presence will be profoundly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lifespan or Lollypop Farm, two organizations close to her heart.

Funeral services will be held in the Interfaith Chapel of Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd. S., Roch., NY 14623) on FRIDAY November 21st at 3:00 PM.
