Pasqual Carangelo Obituary

Pasqual R. Carangelo
Pasqual (Pat) R. Carangelo, 98, of Cheshire, a Hamden resident for many years, passed away peacefully at Elim Park Health Care and Rehabilitation Center on November 7, 2025. He was predeceased by Julie Carangelo, his wife of 70 years. Pasqual was born in New Haven, CT, on August 19, 1927, and was the son of the late Pasqual Carangelo and Louise Celentano. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard, and a sister, Angela Sette. Pasqual is survived by his three children, Robert (Wichuda), Gary (Diane), and Carol Carangelo (Nancy Di Dia). He was the loving grandfather to two granddaughters, Marea Lewis and Michelle Carangelo. Pasqual graduated from Hillhouse High School in New Haven. He served in both the U.S. Army and Navy, where he had the opportunity to witness the atomic bomb testing in Nevada. He resigned from the Navy to marry Julie DiLibero in June 1954. He attended the University of Connecticut and the Connecticut School of Electronics, where he trained to become a Certified Electronics Technician. In later years, he also became a teacher there. He also taught electronics at Emmett O'Brien Technical School in Ansonia for over 20 years, where he received statewide recognition as Teacher of the Year. Pasqual loved his students and formed lasting friendships with many of them. He often said that teaching was one of the most rewarding parts of his life. Pasqual was a former member of the Marion Council of the Knights of Columbus. He loved his wife and his children unequivocally and always made a point to encourage and support them in all of their endeavors. He loved traveling to Ogunquit, ME and Sarasota, FL, with his wife and family. He especially loved spending time with his two granddaughters. Pasqual was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, the WNBA, and UConn Huskies Women's Basketball. We will miss his gift of storytelling, sense of humor, and unconditional love for his family. Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 13, at 9:30am at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. His procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Hamden, at 11:00. Burial with military honors will follow at Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association ( https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org ). To leave an online condolence, please visit www.siskbrothers.com .

Pat was an extraordinary man who loved his family with his whole heart. He truly listened-always curious, always caring, always present. I´ll miss his wisdom, his stories, and the way he made everyone feel seen and valued. He taught me so much about living fully, loving deeply, and finding joy in the everyday moments.

With love,
Nancy,

My condolences to his family.
He was my shop teacher, (too many years ago) he was very devoted to his students and his profession.
