She was born on July 18, 1945 in Naples, Italy to the late Roberto DeGaetano and Vincenza Tamburrelli. She attended school through the eighth grade before entering the workforce upon her father's passing. She remained in Naples where she met her future husband while he was stationed there in the US Navy. Lina and Roger Arntz were united in marriage on August 29, 1965 in Naples, Italy. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this summer. After the birth of their eldest son, Roger and Lina moved to Jacksonville, FL. After coming to the States, Lina taught herself to read, write and speak two languages - mainly from watching her favorite TV shows! After their second son was born, the couple moved to Michigan where they stayed to raise their six children. Lina worked as a waitress her whole life. She loved playing bingo, a trip to the casino, family gatherings, celebrating and being with her children and grandchildren. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family! She loved having a full house, and never turned anyone away. She was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Lina is survived by her children: Robert (Shelli) Arntz, Dave (Kristi) Arntz, Patricia (James) Wallace, Stephen Arntz, Anthony Arntz, Pamela Arntz, grandchildren: Ryan, Sean (Trisha), Brooke, Taryn, Dylan, Justin, Christian, Brendan, Anthony, Logan, Olivia, Ethan, Ava, Vincenzo, and Giana, and one great-grandson on the way!
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 1 pm at OLLH Church Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.
