Rita Arntz

Rita Helen Arntz, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at Huron County Medical Care Facility surround by family. Rita dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a CNA at Four Seasons/Courtney Manor until her retirement. Her compassion and gentle nature touched the lives of many, both professionally and personally. She was the beloved wife of the late Reuben Arntz and a devoted mother to Christie (Joseph) Karl of Pigeon, Leann Arntz of Elkton, David Arntz of Harbor Beach, and step mother to, William Arntz of Harbor Beach, Monica Hird of Hopkinton, Iowa, & Gloria Villa of Hazel Park. She was preceded in death by her brother Ben Schultz, sister Astrid Schultz, son Jamie Kordonis, and granddaughter DeAnna Kordonis. Rita's legacy continues through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren all of whom she loved deeply and cared for with endless devotion. Rita found joy in the simple things-especially gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit, warm smile, and unwavering love will be forever missed by all who knew her. In accordance with her wishes, Rita will be cremated, with private grave side burial. A celebration of her life will be held at Knight's by Café 53 August 16th from 4pm-7pm, 1036 S Van Dyke Road Bad Axe, MI 48413. The family would like to thank Scheurer Longterm Care for welcoming and caring for Rita as if she were their own family during her time there. They would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff Huron County Medical Care Facility for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Rita during her time with them.
