With gratitude and joy, we celebrate the life of Phil Gibson, who went to be with The Lord on May 21, 2025, at 81 years old. Born on February 3, 1944, Phil’s life was a true testimony to God’s grace. At 38, he gave his life to Christ and answered the call to ministry.
In 1986, Phil began a Bible study in his living room, which grew into Living Water Church, where he served as pastor for 35 years. His leadership cultivated a strong, vibrant church, serving as both a spiritual brother and father to countless individuals, while faithfully stewarding his home at the same time.
Phil’s greatest joy was his family: his wife of 60 years, Peggy, and their three daughters, Ginger (spouse Dana Dalton), Sherry (spouse David Hill), and Ashlee (spouse Grayham Stowe). He was a proud grandfather to Courtney (spouse Tyler Ribitzki), Cassie (spouse Josh Powers), Austin (spouse Amber Hill), Breck, Hutch, and Summit, and great-grandfather to Ryder, Reese, Bridgett, Parker, and Lynnlee.
Bonus grandchildren: Dustin, Lacy, Krystal, Trent, Louie, Dallas, Spencer, Preston, Jessica, Daniel, and Breanna. Phil is survived by his siblings, Joe David, Roy Dean and Linda Carol. He was preceded in death by his father, JH Gibson; mom, Doris Gibson; and biological mother, Naomi Runnels.
Phil’s legacy of faith, service, and love for his family will never be forgotten. Though we mourn his loss, we rejoice that he is now with his Savior, hearing, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.” His memory will guide us, and his example of faith will live on in all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart For The Kids through The Heights Church in Burleson.
