Pat Keane Foersterling

Pat Keane Foersterling “Mommo”, 80, of Markesan, WI, died peacefully in her sleep on February 17, 2024. Daughter to Joseph Patrick Keane and Grace Kueter Keane and sister to Luella Krass. She is survived by her children, Karen (Steve) Tardrew, James (Mary) Foersterling, John (Kelly) Foersterling; grandchildren Kelsey, Jack, Sydney, Thomas, Sean, Patrick, Marielle, Charlie, and great grandchild Raeya Sole.

Pat was born on August 2, 1943, in Elmhurst, Illinois. She was a history major at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She took a pause in her education to marry her  high school sweetheart Fred in 1963. She returned to college after raising her family and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from National Louis University. An active member of Community Church of Barrington, Meals on Wheels, PEO (a philanthropic women’s scholarship organization). She also enjoyed raising sheep, knitting, reading, and lake life including water skiing.

Pat was always a mother and welcoming to all. One of the most memorable things was when she would bring a spring lamb from the family farmette to church to share with the children around Easter time. She loved all creatures great and small. She loved children and also cared for aging seniors at Lake Barrington Woods in some of their most trying times.

After a long battle with advanced Alzheimer’s, which she faced with humor, strength, and resilience, Pat has returned to her husband and the love of her life, Fred. She lost Fred after 45 years of marriage and a brave battle with brain cancer.

A spring service is now being planned to celebrate Pat’s loving life. Date & location will be updated on this site.

Private family burial at Dartford Cemetery Green Lake Wisconsin. Public Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 11, 11:30 am. at The Federated Church of Green Lake 489 Scott St. Green Lake WI 54941.  Light refreshments immediately following the service at Tuscumbia Golf Course Club House, 680 Illinois Ave, Green Lake, WI 54941
