Pat Hembree, age 74, of Ellenboro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Pat was born Friday, September 28, 1951 in Charleston, SC to the late Marion Owens and Mae Bell Owens Kiefer. She was a graduate of Walterboro High School, class of 1969. She worked in the bakery at Winn-Dixie for several years. Later she worked at J.C. Cowan and then for Aeroquip/Eaton Manufacturing. She was a faithful and active member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She was known for being a prayer warrior, encourager and a special card sender who brightened everyone’s day. She enjoyed bass fishing with her husband, boating and cooking for her family. One of her specialties was her fried chicken. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and a cherished member of her community and church. Her greatest joy and passion was her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Bob Kiefer; in-laws, Pete and Louise Hembree; sisters, Shirley Johnson and Francis Smoak.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of almost fifty years, Ray Hembree; daughters, Tabatha McGinnis (Jeff) of Mooresboro, Dawn Hembree (Chip) and April Hembree (Webb) all of Ellenboro; son, David Kelly Hembree (Tammy) of Morganton; siblings, Peggie Rackley, Charles Owens and Kathy Bennett; grandchildren, Tyler Hensley (Christin) Dustin Morrow (Beth), Cameron Miller, Josie Morrow, Candice Price (Cordell), LuLu Price (Blake); great grandchildren, Eli Morrow, Scarlett Hensley, Ash Morrow, Roman Morrow and Baby Truett who is due to be born in August.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18th at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with Reverend Paul White and Reverend Dr. Marcus Benfield officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial donations are requested to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 801 Mt. Lebanon Church Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
