Patricia Linsner passed away peacefully on January 27th, 2026. While the last five years of her life had been focused on treatment for melanoma, Pat continued to bring her strength and her love of the small joys of life to both the good times and the harder ones.
She started her professional career as a nurse, which was part of her identity long after she hung up the white uniform. She brought this determination into her over 30 years as an employee of John Lewis Childs School, where she found lifelong friends and impacted many children within Floral Park. Pat volunteered with the PTA, Girl Scouts, Clark Gardens and always was willing to give back so that others could move forward.
Par's forte was telling people "You got this", with a thumbs up and a smile (or when the company wasn't mixed, she would share a particular four letter acronym) to keep people moving forward. She believed in people until they believed in themselves. And she almost always had a good story to bring a smile and a laugh even when times were tough.
Whether you have known her for 75 years or met her 75 seconds ago, she made you comfortable and likely laughing and this led to her being surrounded with good people. This included the family she was born into, her sister, Kathy and her brother, Tommy. The family she made with her husband, Eric; her son, Eric and his wife Summer and their daughters Maddie and Vivi; and her daughter, Carol and her husband, Kevin. Or the families she chose - the Birthday dinner group, JLC lunch bunch, and The Green Angels.
Thank you for the stories that you created with Pat, the laughter that was shared and the support that you gave to her and her family. All of us are better off having known her and she was proud of the positive impact that she had on the world.
