George "Charlie" Bingold

In Loving Memory of George Karl Bingold (1938–2026)

George "Charlie" Bingold, 87, of Garden City, New York passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026. He was surrounded by his family on his last days.

Born on October 26, 1938, in New York City, Charlie was the only child of Anna and George Bingold after they immigrated from Germany. After graduating from William Cullen Bryant High School he began work at Citibank, and earned his degree at Pace University while raising his family with his wife, Joan.

Charlie was known for his love and devotion to his family, traveling with his wife Joan, and being a private banker for several sports teams including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, and the National Football League. He enjoyed spending time serving on the board of Ronald McDonald House of New Hyde Park and tending to the flowers in his garden.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan R. Bingold; their children, Michael Bingold (Patricia) and Robert Bingold; and their three grandchildren, Christopher Bingold (Kristen Focella), Jaclyn Connolly (Christopher), and Emma Bingold; and their three great grandchildren, Wyatt Bingold, Erynn Bingold, and Calvin Connolly.

A mass will be held on Thursday, February 5th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Garden City. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Ronald McDonald House of New Hyde Park in the memory of George Bingold.
