Patrick (Pat) VandenHeuvel, 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on November 21, 2025 after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was born on January 6, 1960, in Green Bay to the late Gerald and Barbara (Bouchea) VandenHeuvel. On October 1, 1988, he married the love of his life, Mary (Watermolen) VandenHeuvel, and they shared 37 wonderful years together. Pat worked for Georgia Pacific for 42 years. Pat dearly loved his family and enjoyed camping with them in the summer, grilling, watching football, and especially tending to his garden.
Pat is survived by his wife Mary, children and their spouses Bryce VandenHeuvel and Kjerstin Berg, and Conner and Maddie (McGuire) VandenHeuvel; siblings, Lynn (Tom) Rebitski, Steve (Roxanne) VandenHeuvel, and Cheryl (Mike) Norder; in-laws Renee (Casey) John, Mark (Tina) Watermolen, Mike Watermolen, Ann (Andy) Krysiak, and Paulette (Bob) Mach; along with many nieces and nephews, to whom he was known as the “fun” uncle.
Pat was preceded in death by both parents; in-laws Raphael and Jeanette (Pichette) Watermolen; and brother Mike VandenHeuvel.
Family and friends are welcome to join us for a memorial visitation at Cotter Funeral & Cremation Service, in De Pere, at 860 North Webster Ave, on Tuesday, December 2, from 4 until 7 p.m with a memorial service starting at 7 p.m. Online condolences welcome at cotterfuneralhome.com/obituaries/pat-vandenheuvel.
The family would also like to extend many thanks to the staff at Aurora Bay Care Medical center for their quality care of Pat over the years. With extra special thanks to the hospice staff for their compassionate care over the last few months as he made the transition into the next life.
