Patricia Eleanor Athey, age 79, of Beaverton, passed away on November 16, 2025. She was born on December 28, 1945, the daughter of Daniel and Luella (Deitz) Murphy in Vanwert, OH. In 1964, Patricia married the love of her life, Fred Athey. Together they shared 61 years filled with love and cherished memories.
Throughout her life, Patricia dedicated her time multiple jobs. She taught Catechism at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 15 years. She spent years working as a Paraprofessional at Beaverton Rural Schools. Patricia was also employed as a Secretary at Riverside Tool and Mold for several years.
Patricia had many passions in life. She had a deep love for the outdoors, often spending time camping with family and fishing when she could. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and reading.
She is survived by her beloved husband: Fred Athey; daughters: Deb (Tim) Williams and Diane Roberts; sons: Dan Athey, Jim (Laura) Athey, and Kevin Athey; grandchildren: Jeff, Nathan, Alicia, Samantha, Zoey, Danielle, Christopher, Tiffany, Alexandra, Brandon, Taylor, Becca, Ethan, and Braxton; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Bayliegh-Rae, Karter, Karson, Evalaynna, Ayden, Kaysen, Raymond, Joseph, Christian, and Jayden; brother: Michael Murphy; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Daniel and Luella; brother: Joe Murphy; granddaughter: Lydia; and grandson: Rocco.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Visitation will also be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. She will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Gladwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
