Delco, North CarolinaPatricia Ann Babson, lovingly known as Pat (Nana), passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday August 6, 2025, in
Delco, NC. Born on February 5, 1941, in Wilmington, NC, she lived a remarkable 84 years filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
A devoted wife and homemaker, Pat found immense joy in raising her family and cherishing her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Her nurturing spirit and gentle heart touched everyone around her. When not surrounded by family, Pat could often be found crocheting beautiful creations, arranging stunning floral displays, or playing enchanting melodies on the piano. An adventurous soul, she also enjoyed the thrill of motorcycle rides, embracing every moment of life with passion and zest.
Pat's faith was an integral part of her life. As a very active member of Livingston Baptist Church, she dedicated herself to various roles including leading the teen time group, participating in crafts for Bible school, and serving as the church pianist. Her contributions to her church family were cherished by many.
Pat is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Hanson Odell Peterson and Dorothy Mae Jones Peterson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jerry Babson; daughters Melinda B. Sowers and husband Jim, and Roxann B. Ellis and husband Timmy; sister Brenda P. Coleman; brother H.O. Peterson, Jr. and wife Lynn as well as her bonus daughter Donna Gail Brewer. She leaves behind three treasured grandchildren, Robby and wife Meagan, Tiffany and husband Aaron, and TJ and wife Cassidy, as well as six adored great-grandchildren: Charleston, Mckenzie, Kyndal, Meredith, Caison, and Annie Mae.
A funeral service celebrating Pat's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Livingston Baptist Church, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff of Gentiva Hospice, with special thanks to Kayla Hoover and Kayla Parks, as well as to dear friends Linda Goff and Alice Peterson, for their compassionate care and support.
Though she is no longer with us, Pat's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community.
