Patricia Ann (King) Baer of Honey Brook, formerly of West Chester, passed away on Wednesday March 12, 2025 at the age of 88. She was the devoted wife of Rollin Glenn Baer, with whom she shared nearly 58 years of marriage until his death in 2016.

Born on June 11, 1936 in Mount Vernon NY, she was the youngest of three daughters of the late Roger Tupper King and Florence (Wuestenhoefer) King. She was preceded in death by her sisters Barbara Horvath and Phyllis Baker.

Pat attended Mount Vernon High School, where she graduated with a business diploma, then worked for several years in the business office of the New York Telephone Company as a Business Office Representative. She was active in the fraternal youth organization Daughters of the Eastern Star, affiliated with the Masonic lodge in Mount Vernon. At the age of 16 she was installed as Beloved Queen of her chapter, where she remained active for many years.

Pat married Rollin Baer, the love of her life, in 1958 following his college graduation and basic training in the US Army. They soon moved to Chester County Pennsylvania, where they raised four sons and a daughter.

As a young parent, Pat was an active volunteer in her children’s school activities and Parent-Teachers Association (PTA). She and Rollin made time every year to take their children vacationing with aunts, uncles and cousins. Family ties were an important and central part of her life. She maintained this passion for her children and grandchildren throughout her later life, regularly attending sporting events, karate exhibitions, singing and dance recitals and all manner of extracurricular activities whenever she could.

Pat held several jobs over the years, including Hickory Farms, and eventually retired from National Liberty Insurance Company in Fraser. She and Rollin retired to Cape May NJ for 11 years, before returning to Chester County to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. During their retirement, Pat and Rollin also spent time traveling to Europe, Russia, Bermuda, China and around the United States. They especially enjoyed their time in Cape May and Florida before settling in the Honey Brook area, and more recently the Tel Hai community. Pat particularly enjoyed the quality time she spent on Frye Island on Lake Sebago, Maine each August with many of her grandchildren.

Pat and her family were charter members of Advent Lutheran Church in West Chester, where she very much enjoyed time served as a Sunday School Teacher, singing in the choir and promoting the music programs there. Pat and Rollin helped forge strong friendships through the church, forming the “Gourmet Group” which continued to enjoy home-cooking celebrations and regular trips to restaurants for the next 50 years. Later, after moving to the Honey Brook area, Pat joined the Living God Lutheran Church where she remained active until her passing.

Pat is survived by her children Jeffrey King and his wife Brenda (Lansdale PA), Gregory Martin and his wife Julie (Downingtown), Douglas Stuart and his wife Kathy (West Chester), Robert Steven and his wife Jen (Pottstown), and Pamela Joyce McGrath and her husband Jay (West Chester), her 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Saturday March 22 at Living God Lutheran Church, 3200 Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook, PA 19344. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Living God Lutheran Church, Honey Brook PA.
