Patricia Ann Batey

Patricia Ann Batey, age 92, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. 

 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Terry Jones officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

 

Born on October 16, 1932, in Conaway, West Virginia, Pat was the daughter of the late Glenn Cunningham and the late Helen McHenry Cunningham. She married Daniel C. Batey on November 14, 1953, and they shared sixty-five wonderful years together until his passing on April 26, 2019.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel L. Batey, and infant daughter, Lorena Lynne Batey. 

 

Pat worked for many years at Ace Hardware, where she built strong connections and gained valuable knowledge from the many contractors she met along the way. An avid and talented quilter, she lovingly created quilts for each of her children and grandchildren over the years. 

She was also a skilled seamstress who found joy in cross-stitching, playing the piano, and maintaining an impeccably organized home. Above all, Pat was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always present and engaged in the lives of her family. She was a faithful member of Berea Church of Christ.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Twila (Randall) Jean of Spring Hill, TN, daughter in law, Anne Batey of Columbia, TN, brothers, Jerry (Darlene) Cunningham of West Virginia, Ernie Cunningham of Ohio, sisters, Nancy McClintock of Ohio, Janet (Lynn) Casto of Ohio, grandchildren, Drew (Joy) Pogue, Patrick (Brie) Pogue, Laura (Raul) Lopez, Will (Ashton) Batey, Jill (Robert) Poteete, Ashley (Cody) Sellers, and great grandchildren, Greyson Pogue, Madison Pogue, Arthur Pogue, Henry Lopez, Wyatt Sellers, Xander Sellers, Christina Poteete, Ellie Poteete, and Robert Poteete. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Shirley Beasley.
