Patricia Anne "Patty" Black

Patricia "Patty" Anne Black (Flood), age 61, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Bel Air, Maryland. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend, known for her kindness and unwavering spirit.

Patty was born on December 26, 1963, in New York, New York. She earned a master's degree in Speech Pathology and dedicated her career to early childhood education at St. Paul's School, where she inspired countless young minds with her passion for education.

On June 23, 2001, Patty married her beloved husband, Charles (Chip) Black. Together with Chip's sons, they created a beautiful family, welcoming their daughter, Grace Caroline Black, on November 8, 2003. She never missed an opportunity to cheer for Grace's many sports endeavors and was a loyal fan of the Ravens and Orioles. Most of all, she was proud of Grace's academic accomplishments.

Patty is survived by her loving husband, Chip; her daughter, Grace; her stepsons, Tim Black (Jenna), Mark Black (Irene), and Matthew Black (Christine); her mother, Anne Flood (King), and was preceded in death by her father, Joseph P. Flood, who passed away on September 19, 2017.

She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Barry (Flood) and Jeanne Ames (Flood); sister-in-law, Vicki Farlow (Black); her adored grandchildren, Nicholas, William, Joseph, Roula and Baby Girl (Coming Soon) Black; her loyal companions Rali and Poppi along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Patty will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Visitation of friends and family will be held at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Rd. (at beltway exit 26) on Friday, December 12, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with funeral services at St. Paul's School Chapel in Brooklandville, MD on Saturday, December 13 at 1:30 PM immediately followed by a reception to celebrate Patty's life at Hayfields Country Club.
