Patricia Calcaterra Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Modetz Funeral Home - Silverbell Chapel on Jan. 7, 2026.
Patricia Carole "Patsy Groat" Calcaterra of Orion, passed away surrounded by her family on January 5, 2026. She was 65. Loving wife of Thomas; devoted and proud mother of Michelle and Matt; dear sister of Rosemary, Denise, and the late Anne, Irene, Sonny, Steve, Dennis, and Patrick; sister-in-law of Dave, Sue, Colleen, Joe, and Mary Beth. Patsy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
To her friends and family Patsy was someone who would've always been there for you with a smile, encouragement, or just to lend a helping hand. She loved to care for the neighborhood dogs! Whether it was simply walking them, housing them for the weekend, or always having their treat dish ready on the porch as they came for a visit.
She was widely known for her crafting abilities, and absolutely loved to share her works with all.
Patsy and her family loved to travel and see new places. Her friends she made over the years will truly miss her.
She loved her Detroit sports teams unequivocally, whether it was going to or watching a Red Wing's or Tiger's game. She really enjoyed going to see the Lions play in different cities, and the simple novelty of the experience with loved ones.
Our yard was a place for her to enjoy the embraced serenity of tending to her garden, the abundance of flowers, and harnessing of where she would direct her LOVE next.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 – 11am with in-state at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Rd., Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Monday, 5pm to 8pm at Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion.
In lieu of flowers, suggested memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
