Patricia A. Carpenter

Patricia (Pat) A. Carpenter (Thayer) of Nedrow, NY left us to join her husband John and her parents Herbert and Stella Thayer, on October 14, 2025. Pat was a school bus driver for over 30 years in the Onondaga Central, Skaneateles, and West Genesee School Districts. She also served as an instructor, teaching others how to drive school buses. Pat was active in the South Onondaga Fire Departments Ladies Auxiliary and the South Onondaga Grange for many years. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband all over the United States after their retirement.
Pat was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, John Carpenter in 2013, a brother Joe, and her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Jerry Hahn.
Pat is survived by her 3 children, sons Jon (Cindy) Carpenter of Georgia, and Gary Carpenter (Francesca Emmi), daughter, Jeanne Clarke, and her very special sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Gary Grome. One of Pat's greatest joys in life were her 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She also held a special spot for her many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday October 19th at Butler-Badman Funeral Home, 4504 W. Seneca Tpk in Onondaga Hill from 3 to 5pm with a service immediately following. The burial will be private in Elmira.
