Patricia S. Chism, 64, passed away on March 6, 2026, in DeRidder, Louisiana. She was born on May 1, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Patricia was a hardworking and honest woman who dedicated much of her life to caring for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in the time she spent with those she loved. As a homemaker, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of good cooking. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and sharing meals with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Keith A. Chism of DeRidder, Louisiana; her son, Robert C. Hitner and wife Alejandra of Reno, Nevada; and her daughters, Amanda L. Treadway and husband Jeff Treadway of Merryville, Louisiana, Brittany Chambers of Ragley, Louisiana, Rebbecca Hitner of Yakima, Washington, and Katherine Harbson of Yakima, Washington.

She is also survived by her brothers, Chuck Simmons and wife Linda Simmons of Port Charlotte, Florida, and David Simmons and wife Linda Simmons of Rosepine, Louisiana; and her sister, Dot Harmon of DeRidder, Louisiana.

Patricia leaves behind a cherished legacy in her 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her love, kindness, and presence in their lives.

She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong work ethic, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.

My mama was not only my mom but she was my best friend. You always knew how to light up a room when she walked in. She knew how to make your day go from bad to good. Mama I've got good memories with you and I will cherish those to the day I die. My mama thought and fought and fought until she couldn't fight anymore and took her last breath. She will always be loved but never forgotten. God needed her more in heaven than he needed her here on Earth. We now have our own guardian angel watching over us. Mama I miss you so much. You were my inspiration for everything I do in life you taught me everything I know and I will pass that down to my daughter.
Love always
