Patricia Clayton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 9, 2026.
Patricia Marie Sullivan Clayton, age 76, of Marietta, Georgia, formerly a resident of Wisconsin, passed away on January 8, 2026.

Patricia earned her bachelor's of Arts in Education from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 1971.

She enjoyed staying active in her community and was a member of the Wolf Senior Center.

Patricia took great pride in her Irish heritage, which was an important part of who she was throughout her life.

She cherished time spent with her family, especially going to the movies and restaurants, with McGuire's in Florida holding a special place among her favorite spots.

She had a deep love for music and delighted in keeping her mind sharp through puzzles, brain teasers, and computer games.

An avid reader, Patricia especially enjoyed the sci-fi genre, and she was also a devoted fan of British television.

She proudly cheered for the Green Bay Packers and rarely missed a game.

Above all else, Patricia's greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Her love, warmth, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dora Sullivan; sister, Kathy Sullivan Sharkey; brother, Rick Sullivan; and son-in-law, Bill Coggin.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas Clayton; daughter, Jennifer Clayton Coggin of Panama City Beach, Florida; daughter, Julie Clayton White (Chris) of Atlanta; son, Jeff Clayton (Brittanie) of Acworth; grandchildren, William "Billy" Coggin IV(Chase), Brandon Coggin, Justyn Coggin, and Johnny White.

She is also survived by brother, James Sullivan (Janet); sister, Janet Sullivan Cunningham (George); brother, John Sullivan (Kathy); in-laws, Leslie Sullivan and Scott Sharkey; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service Sunday from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service.
