Published by Legacy on Nov. 12, 2025.
Patricia Dalles Coleman, 95 1/2 passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 in Apopka, Florida. She was born on April 1, 1930 in Pittsburgh PA to the late Allan W. and Naomi H. Morgan Yolton. She grew up in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania, and in Gainesville, Florida. After graduating from Wilkinsburg High School, she worked in retail sales for Kaufmann's Department Store, as a secretary for the United Steel Workers in Downtown Pittsburgh, and as a secretary at the Blaw-Knox Steel Corporation. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Samuel Dalles in 1964, and her beloved second husband, Theodore H. Coleman in 2016, as well as her brother Daniel James Yolton. In the course of her life she lived in Cheswick, Coatesville, Lancaster, and Indiana Township, Pennsylvania, in Chula Vista, California, and in Altamonte Springs, Florida, as well as the places already mentioned.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, devoted to her family. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), wherever she lived, and was an ordained deacon. She was employed as a teacher and secretary at the Upland County Day School in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, as manager of the Appel and Weber jewelry store in downtown Lancaster, and as a retail associate at S Clyde Weaver's, of East Petersburg, Pennsylvania.
Known as "Mimi" or Pat to family and friends, she was an award winning cook, an avid canasta club member, and a dedicated Red Hat Club member. She loved travel, especially to the beach, and during her Pittsburgh years was famous for her patronage of Glen's Frozen Custard and the Oakmont Bakery. She loved giving themed dinner parties, and pampered her pet cat and dogs. Her homes were always accented with butterflies. Many will remember her turning heads in her yellow 1966 Mustang convertible. Her family enjoys recalling that she was once the first runner up in the Miss Pittsburgh contest.
She is survived by her son, John A. Dalles and daughter-in-law, Judith T. Dalles, grandchildren, John Taylor Dalles (Tara), and Anne Dalles Sandoval (Steven), and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron Dalles, and Alyssa and Isaac Sandoval, her brother-in-law Robert Dalles (Anna Marie) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
