Patricia Demeter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Landmark Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Patricia Ann (Gramme) Demeter, 89, of Plantation, FL passed away on December 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Daughter of the late George Gramme and Mary (Ember) Gramme. Sister to the late George Gramme Jr. Patricia was born on November 7, 1936 in Aurora IL.

She grew up in the surrounding area and attended Madonna High School where she graduated in 1955. During that time she met William G. Demeter (Bill) and they were married on July 2, 1955. Bill was drafted by the US Army and was sent to be stationed in Germany. Patricia (Pat), still back in the USA, gave birth to their first child, Steven Demeter, in 1956. Pat was then able to bring herself and her son to be with Bill in Germany. The three of them lived together there for a year and then returned to Aurora. In 1958 their 2nd child was born, a daughter named Susan Demeter. Bill got out of the service and took a job as an engineer/salesman for Stephens-Adamson. The family grew and their 3rd child was born in 1965, a daughter named Sharon Demeter. Seven Years later in 1972 work took Bill to Pittsburgh, PA and the family moved there. They lived there for the next 30 years. In 2002, Pat and Bill retired to McCormick, South Carolina. They lived there until 2016. From 2016-2018 they lived in West Virginia. Then in 2018 they moved to Dania Beach, FL. to be close to their daughter Sharon. In 2025 Pat and Bill lived at the Five Star Premier Residence of Plantation, FL where Bill still resides.

On July 2, 2025 the couple celebrated 70 years of marriage, quite the milestone! Pat was a devout catholic her entire life. Pat had many friends throughout the course of her life. Pat set a wonderful example of goodness, hope, and faith.

Pat is survived by her husband, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church on January 24, 2026 at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Little Flower Catholic Church, 1805 Pierce Street, Hollywood, FL 33020.
