Patricia Fairhurst, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29th. Born in 1926 in New Rochelle, New York, Pat spent most of her life in Massachusetts. A graduate of Brookline High School, Class of 1944, Pat answered the call to serve during World War II as a Cadet Nurse in 1945. She went on to graduate from Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Mass General Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, beginning a lifelong journey of care.
In 1949, she married Richard Clement, and together they raised four children, Holly, Judy, Joy and David. Their family life was filled with adventure and laughter, especially during their treasured annual camping trips to Sebago Lake. Pat also enjoyed her tenure as an instructor for Dale Carnegie.
In 1975, Pat married William Fairhurst, (predeceased in 2006), with whom she shared her happiest years. Together, they explored the world aboard the transatlantic Queen Elizabeth cruise line, volunteered together at the Wenham Museum, and were active at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Beverly Farms. Pat's later years were enriched by her volunteer work at the St. John's Community Thrift Shop, where she formed lasting friendships and continued to give back to her community.
Most important to Pat was the love of her family. Known affectionately as "Namoo", she found her greatest joy in the love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Years of annual Christmas cookies with her great-grandchildren and numerous family celebrations were the highlight of her days. She delighted in sports, knitting, embroidery, gardening, opera and anything that brought her to the water.
Pat's greatest joy at the end of her life was to live near her beloved granddaughters, Brianne Campbell and Brittany Shapiro of Newburyport, MA. She enjoyed daily visits from her great grandchildren, each cherishing their special one on one time with Namoo.
Pat is survived by her children, Holly Clement of Laconia, NH: Judy Spaniak of
Beverly, MA: and R. David Clement of Wolfeboro, NH; she also leaves behind her step-children, Andrew Fairhurst and Helen Fairhurst of England. She also leaves behind her four granddaughters, one grandson and 10 great grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
