Patricia Ann Farkas

Patricia Ann (Nichols) Farkas, 76, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina passed away peacefully, surrounded by her adoring family on September 27, 2022.
Patricia was born on March 27, 1946, the daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret Meadow Nichols. In 1966, while residing in Washington, DC, Pat met the love of her life, Raymond Farkas. Pat and Ray were united in marriage on October 5,1968. They later made their home in Rockville, Maryland where they raised their family and were active parishioners of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church. Pat devoted twenty years to Saint Elizabeth School, nourishing the hearts, minds and souls of the many children she taught. Pat and Ray retired to Murrells Inlet and quickly poured themselves into their new community, most notably the parish family of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Patricia was the consummate giver of her time, treasure and talent, a true woman for others. Her earthly days were filled with doing small things with great love. Whether singing in the choir, coordinating Women's Club activities or volunteering for various outreaches, she served others and her Lord with a joyful heart. Mom always reminded us, though, that charity begins at home. In the words of Mother Teresa, "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family." As such, family and friends alike were continually blessed with a love that knew no bounds, whether manifested through a gracious conversation, a warm hug, a gentle reassurance, or of course, one of her most lovingly prepared meals from the heart.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Raymond; children Margaret (Francis, Jr.) Craska, R. Luke (Zena) Farkas, Monica (Michael) Bremner and Andrew (Jennifer) Farkas; grandchildren Francis III, Joseph, Peter, Laura and Caroline Craska, Veronica and Raymond Farkas, Luke, Anna, Mary Patricia and Clare Bremner, Fiona and Allie Farkas; sisters Catherine (John) Franklin, Rebecca (Paul) Nethercutt; brother J. Thomas Nichols; sister-in-law Patricia (Eugene) Mamajek; godchildren Amy and Emily Fu, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church in Pawleys Island, SC on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 12:00 noon, with inurnment after Mass, followed by a repast in the Parish Life Center. In lieu of flowers, please perform an act of kindness or make a donation to Teach My People (teachmypeople.com) or Birthright of Georgetown (birthright.org/georgetown) in Pat's memory.
