Patricia R. Friend

Patricia R. Friend, age 57, of Milton, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 26, 1968, in Ixtepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Silvia Gutierrez Rodriguez and Rafael Carvajal Moyado. She was a proud graduate of Wilmington University, where she earned her master's degree. Patricia dedicated many years of service as an administrator with the Social Security Administration, where her warmth and professionalism left a lasting impact.
Patricia had a passion for life that was evident to all who knew her. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends, dancing with joy, traveling to her beloved Mexico, and enjoying the serenity of the beach. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and dear friends, always bringing people together with her generous heart and radiant smile.
Patricia touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Silvia Gutierrez Rodriguez, and her father, Rafael Carvajal Moyado; her beloved children, Carlo Carvajal and Carlissa Friend; her sister, Osiris Legates; her brothers, Rafael Ezekiel, Antonio Paolo, and Alejandro; her uncle, Gilberto, and her aunt, Lilia. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were brightened by her presence.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Josefina Gutierrez Vega, who passed away on April 9, 2020, in Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexico.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Dr., Lewes, de 19958, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 AM.
