Patricia Gail Gault, 91, of La Porte, IN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, under hospice care.
Patricia was born on May 11, 1934, in Huron, South Dakota, to Emmett and Ethel (Donahue) Patterson. A proud graduate of the Class of 1952, she later moved to Springville, Indiana, and began her working career in Gary before settling in La Porte, where she was employed at a local bank.
On September 6, 1958, in La Porte, Patricia was united in marriage to Robert Gault. Together, they built a loving home filled with faith, kindness, and hospitality. Robert preceded her in death, but their legacy lives on through their children, Connie (Steve) Clougher of La Porte and Wayne (Kathleen) Gault of Barrington, IL; and their beloved grandchildren, Robert and Norah Gault. Patricia is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In the 1970's, Patricia began working as a secretary with the La Porte Community School Corporation, a position she held with dedication and grace for over 20 years. She was a faithful member of Door Village United Methodist Church, where she found joy in fellowship and served with the United Methodist Women. Patricia had a heart for community and compassion, often seen attending the La Porte County Fair, reading a good book, baking a homemade treat, or lovingly caring for animals.
Above all, Patricia's life was defined by her deep love for her family. She treasured her role as a mother and grandmother and formed enduring friendships that spanned the decades. Her gentle spirit and kind presence will be missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Door Village United Methodist Church, with Pastor Sam Polito officiating. Burial will follow at Door Village Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
