Louise (Boyd, Pate) Bailey, 97, of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, formally of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Riverbend Nursing Home & Rehab Center.
Louise was born on December 20, 1927, in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, to George and Martha (Jones) Boyd.
In 1948, in Louisiana, Louise married her first husband, Johnny Pate, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1981. In 1989, she married James Byron Bailey of La Porte, who preceded her in death on January 2, 2015.
Surviving are her brother, George (Ethel) Boyd of Olmstead, Illinois; son, Richard Pate and former wife, Kris Pate, both of La Porte; grandchildren, Ericka (Chris) Porter of Portland, Oregon, Rosemary (Quintin) Thomas of New Orleans, Louisiana, Taylor Pate of Portland, Oregon, Keith Fincher of Chicago, Illinois, Kesha Pate of Chicago, Illinois, RJ (Sara) Pate of Chicago, Illinois, and Kaitlyn Pate of Michigan City; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughters, Mary Fincher and Janice Pate; and eleven of her siblings.
Louise worked at Levin's Boston Store and Indiana Molding and Frame, both in La Porte and later retired as a picker/packer at Whirlpool in La Porte. She was a member of The Way International. Louise enjoyed reading and studying her bible.
Cremation has taken place in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on a later date.
