Patricia Geary Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Jan. 3, 2026.
Patricia Ann Geary, affectionately known as Patsy to her friends and family, was called to her heavenly home on December 30, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 16, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts, Patsy was the cherished daughter of Michael and Mary Barry. She grew up in a home filled with love and strong family values, which guided her throughout her life.
Patsy's heart was full of love for her family. She was the beloved wife of Gerard Geary, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Timothy Geary and Meaghan McWalter, who were her pride and joy. Patsy's role as a mother was one she held dear, and her guidance and affection helped shape the lives of her children in immeasurable ways. As a sister to Maureen Pimental and sister-in-law to Dan Pimental, she was a source of unwavering support and kindness.
Her role as a grandmother was one that brought her immense happiness. Patsy was the doting grandmother to Liam, Siobhan, and Aidan Geary, and Hannah, Tessa, and Ella McWalter. She found great joy in their accomplishments and milestones, and her presence at their dance recitals and sporting events was a testament to her loving and supportive nature.
Patsy's dedication to her faith was evident in every aspect of her life. A devout Christian, she lived her beliefs through her actions and interactions with others. Her kindness, loving nature, and faith-filled spirit were a beacon of light to all who knew her.
A proud alumna of South Boston High School, Patsy continued her education at Holy Ghost Hospital's nursing school in Cambridge, MA. Her career as a nurse spanned over four decades, beginning in Boston City hospitals and extending to several long-term care facilities. Patsy's passion for nursing was more than a profession; it was a calling. She was a compassionate caregiver, an advocate for her patients, and a role model for her colleagues.
Patsy's Irish heritage was a vibrant part of her identity, and she was a proud South Bostonian through and through. She embraced her culture with enthusiasm and often shared stories of her family's history and traditions. Her love for her four-legged companions was equally profound, as her dogs were considered part of her family and brought her immeasurable comfort and joy.
Those who knew Patsy will remember her as a woman of great strength and tenderness. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, the importance of family, and the enduring nature of faith. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the love she shared so freely and the grace with which she walked through the world. Patsy's legacy is one of love, and her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, and her spirit will be deeply missed.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patsy's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
