Patricia "Patsy" Gilbert

Sadly, our beloved Patricia (Patsy) Gail Gilbert, 73, of Longview, Texas passed away on September 17th, 2025. Patsy was born on July 27th, 1952 to John and Billie Barrett in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a loving daughter, mother, wife, and grandmother. Patsy graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She met her husband Wayne during her time at college. They married on April 11th, 1974 and raised three children. Patsy was an amazing mother who transitioned to childcare as her children aged. She became a staple caretaker at the Wee Learn Center's infant room, where she selflessly loved on babies for 20 years. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Billie Barrett. She is survived by her husband Wayne Gilbert, her children Adam Gilbert, Jennifer Gilbert, Kimberly Flores and son-in-law Steven Flores, and her grandchildren Ashlyn Gilbert, Aidan Flores and Madelyn Flores. She is also survived by her siblings John Barrett, Janice Barrett, Thomas Barrett, Randall Barrett and countless loving family members and friends. Patsy will be truly missed. A memorial service will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Saturday September 27th at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor be sent to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center.
