Patricia Gurley
April 10, 1936 - November 13, 2025
Stilwell, Kansas - Patricia Gurley, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Born on April 10, 1936, in West Plains, Missouri, Patricia was a vibrant spirit who radiated love and strength throughout her life.
Patricia's journey began in a humble one-room schoolhouse, where she walked to school alongside her beloved siblings, Mary Jane, Kathleen, and Mike. She later attended Argentine High School and graduated in 1954, before pursuing further education for a year at Johnson County Community College. Her foundation of education served her well in life, leading her to a successful career that began with Yellow Freight and at Frontier Bag, where she dedicated over 50 years as the secretary of the corporation, as well as taking on the additional roll of payroll manager.
On September 3, 1960, Patricia married her soulmate, Ronald Gurley, in Miami, Oklahoma, embarking on a beautiful journey filled with love and adventure. Together, they embraced the joys of life, sharing many memorable moments, including travels and leisure days filled with golfing, where she famously achieved a hole-in-one. The couple spent their winters in Florida, forging lasting friendships along the way, enjoying both the sun, boating, deep sea fishing, and the companionship that life had to offer.
Patricia's personality shone brightly; she was strong, opinionated, and deeply loving, a woman who cared deeply for those around her. She embraced her family with open arms, always ensuring they felt supported and cherished. Her legacy continues through her husband, Ronald Gurley, and her children: Joe Rose (Doug), Mark Gurley (Shelley), Kathy Hartsock (Jim), and Mike Gurley (Jennifer). The joy of her life was amplified by her grandchildren: Jaimie Relphorde (Marcus), Dawson Gurley (Kelly), Landon Gurley, Peyton Fair, Tyler Hartsock (Morgan), Andrew Hartsock (Ciara), Patrick Hartsock (Madison), and Lauren Rose Gurley, as well as her great-grandchildren: Myles Gurley, Madelynn Gurley, Grace Gurley, Savannah Gurley, Ryze Relphorde, Graye Relphorde, Aislyn Relphorde, Xander Cruz, and Baby Girl Hartsock.
While Patricia's presence on this earth will be sorely missed, her spirit lives on through the countless memories she created and the valuable lessons she imparted. She is reunited in peace with her deceased family members, including her parents, Roy and Ethel Wade, and her siblings, Mary Jane Evans, Kathleen Gore, and Mike Wade.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire all who knew her. This extraordinary woman will forever remain in our hearts.
