Patricia O'Neil Henderson was born on Sunday, June 26, 1949 to the late Nancy Pearl Brown and Ernest Sydnor in Powhatan, Virginia. She transitioned from her earthly labor to receive her heavenly reward on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Upon the family relocating to Long Island, New York, Patricia was educated in the Suffolk County Public School System, and graduated from Deer Park High School in 1967. Patricia then relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she became a valuable employee of the Bell Telephone Company.

Patricia married the late Nathaniel James Henderson, and from this union, five children were born. Patricia relocated her family to Omaha, Nebraska in 1981, where she became a faithful and dependable employee of the Internal Revenue Service for over 40 years.

Patricia entered into a domestic relationship with Charles Jones that would endure until the end of her life. From this union, four children were born.

Over the arc of five decades, Patricia labored and excelled in the areas of business and finance. She often assisted others with financial and business advice, and even assisted many with income tax preparation. She was a giver, always willing to lend a helping hand to the best of her ability. She allowed countless friends and relatives to temporarily stay at her home in times of dire need without ever requesting anything in return.

Patricia was a sports fan and an avid lover of football. She also enjoyed watching crime and mystery television shows. One of her hobbies was playing the lottery, of which she once won a major, newsworthy jackpot. She loved having a good time and loved to dance. Among her many gifts and talents, she was an excellent cook. Her Spaghetti and Lasagna were unmatched. She loved to shop and travel. She thoroughly enjoyed her many business trips to various cities over the course of her employment with the I.R.S.

She also loved her cruises and traveling out of the country.

Patricia's greatest love and adoration was for her family. Her children, grands and great-grands were her world. She assisted in caring for her grands up until the time of her illness.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eliza J. Brown and Joseph Randolph, parents, Nancy Pearl Brown Venable and Ernest Sydnor; sister, Sandra Ernestine Hobbs; daughter, Natalie Lynnette Vaughan; niece, Sherita Antoinette Hobbs; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Patricia leaves to cherish her memory a devoted sister, Daphne Arlette Brown; devoted children, Nathaniel James Henderson, Ir.; Patrick Omar Henderson (Maricela); Amar David Henderson (Brandie); Christopher Rashaad Henderson (Summer); Charles Richard Augustus Henderson (Allison); Charisie Anissa Marion (Chris); Brandon Archie Alexander Henderson (Sarah); and Jordan Matthew Jones; two nephews, four nieces, a great-niece, a host of devoted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins; and her partner and companion, Charles Jones.

Patricia also leaves numerous devoted friends, who often thought of her as a surrogate "Mom;" amongst them, a cherished and trusted friend, Donita Smith.
