Patricia Ann “Pat” Holborn, 91 of Vanderbilt, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Medilodge in Gaylord. Born in Flint on August 3, 1933, she was the daughter of Ervin and Dorothy (House) Slater.
She moved from Flint to Vanderbilt at age 12 and lived in the community ever since. It was in Vanderbilt MI that she met the love of her life Floyd Holborn. They quickly became high school sweethearts. Floyd and Patricia were married on June 2, 1950. They had three children, William, Charles, Christine, and Neil Brasseur. Pat was involved in the building of several homes in Vanderbilt as well as the building of P&F Variety Store, which is now the EZ Mart. Pat and Floyd owned the Variety Store for 10 years.
Patricia also helped with the renovation of the Pigeon River Baptist Church. She worked at Vanderbilt School as a secretary from 1976-1990, along with various factories. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling. She took 33 trips Canada where she loved spending time outdoors. Her greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, William (Kay) Holborn of Florida, Karen Holborn of Gaylord, Greg Dutcher of Vanderbilt, Neil (Joy) Brasseur of Vanderbilt, and Raymond (Tara) Musall of Vanderbilt; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; daughter, Christine Dutcher; son, Charles Holborn; sister, Ivalane Slater and brother, Fred Slater.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Vanderbilt Community Church, where the family will visit with friends beginning at10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contribution to The Disabled Veterans.
