Patricia Hardy Hovanec, 70, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at Arbutus Park Manor.
Born on May 9, 1955, Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Earl and Charlotte Hardy and daughter-in-law of the late Elder and Bessie Kerr.
Patricia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Hovanec; she is survived by her children, Melissa (Tom) Cvitkovic of Ambridge and John Kerr of Johnstown; and her cherished grandchildren, Ante, Marija, Lucija, and Sofija Cvitkovic of Ambridge. Patricia is also survived by her loving brother Jim, sister Karen, and the Hardy and Kulp families.
Patricia graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School and Cambria-Rowe Business College. Patricia began her career at Johnstown Poster Advertising Company before transitioning to Marathon Poster. She and Bob then successfully owned and operated Big City Signs for nearly 30 years, becoming a respected figure in the Johnstown business community.
Beyond her professional achievements, Patricia was deeply committed to serving others. She was active with the Alzheimer's Foundation of America chapter in Johnstown, where she organized annual screenings and facilitated monthly support group meetings, touching countless lives with her compassion and dedication.
An outstanding daughter, sister, mother, wife, friend, and caregiver, Patricia's warmth, strength, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family would especially like to thank all the staff and caregivers at Arbutus Park Manor, especially those who worked closely with her in Crossroads. We can never thank you enough for the kindness, love, and care you showed Patricia in her hour of need.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arbutus (https://arbutusparkmanor.com/donate/) or a local Alzheimer's support group.
