Patricia Ann Jachimiak, 90, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her home in South Bend.
Patricia was born in Mishawaka on April 22, 1933 to the late Everett Daniel Robinson and Charlotte Viola (Shipton) Robinson. On February 16, 1957 in South Bend, she married Edward Joseph Jachimiak. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2016.
Patricia was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. For many years she worked as a tutor for South Bend Community Schools. She enjoyed going to the casino, bowling, and was an avid reader and card player. Patricia was famous for her singing. It was nothing for her to burst out in song whenever she felt necessary birthdays, holidays, and especially Christmas (she was also known to yodel occasionally). She was also a travel bug. She had been to almost every state, including Alaska, Hawaii, and several countries in Europe.
Left to cherish the memories of Patricia are a daughter, Diana L. Jachimiak of South Bend; daughter, Deborah A. Rist of Mishawaka; daughter, Darlene K. Takacs of South Bend; son, Edward J. Jachimiak Jr. (Gina) of Niles, MI; brother, James Robinson of Glendale, AZ; sister in-law, Nora Robinson of Brea, CA; sister in law, JoAnn Robinson of Mishawaka; grandchildren and spouses, Casey (Sarah) Rist, Cory (Liz) Rist, Christopher (Ashley) Takacs, Chad (Katie) Rist, Cody Takacs, Evan Jachimiak, and Seth (Jocelyn) Jachimiak; great grandchildren, Colin, Dominic, Emma, and Anthony.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Loretta Blakeman and Betty Buchanan, and three brothers, Bill, Daniel, and Robert Robinson.
A memorial service for Patricia will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Burial of cremated remains with military honors will immediately follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, two hours prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
