Patricia Jolly ObituaryGoshen - Patricia Ann (Pasalbessy, Vanasse) Jolly passed away on 22 February 2025 following a long courageous battle wth Alzheimer's disease. Her strong spirit, bright smile and love of family will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Born on 16 November 1944, on New York City's upper west side, to parents Rhea and James Pasalbessy, Pat was always very proud to be a "Native New Yorker". Her first 19 years were spent in NYC growing up with her brother Robert Booth and sisters Helen Santiago and Anita Pasalbessy. In 1963, Pat married Richard W. Vanasse, moved to Waterbury CT and shortly thereafter had her only child, Richard W. Vanasse Jr.
Balancing a busy life and motherhood, Pat joined the workforce finding employment in area businesses such as Caldor's, Bredice Furniture, Argene Interiors and eventually the moving industry, working for various agents of Allied Van Lines. She worked in secretarial, operations, sales and customer service roles, acquiring many awards, accolades, honors and customer recognitions for her dedicated performance. She truly loved the business, and her co-workers, and happily worked into her seventies.
Over the years, Pat later married Maurice F. Jolly of Waterbury, became a Mother-in-Law to Clelia (Marcantonio) Vanasse, a Grandma to Taylor (Vanasse) D'Entremont and Julia Vanasse and a Great Grandma to Avery Rose D'Entremont. Her dedication to family steered her every move, never missing an event, tournament, meet, graduation or other milestone along the way. Besides family, some of her other favorites were music, dancing, reading, movies, sweet treats and word games.
Finally, her family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated staff and caregivers of The Cottage of Litchfield Hills, Torrington CT and The Sharon Center for Health and Rehab, Sharon CT for the kindness, care and compassion shown to Pat over the recent years. As she battled Alzheimer's, the wonderful people in these organizations, and their patience and understanding, made a true difference and will never be forgotten by our family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10:00-11:30am at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, Connecticut. A service will begin at 11:30am.
