Patricia Wilson Obituary

Patricia Joyce Wilson, age 91, a resident of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at her home.
Joyce was born February 24, 1934, in Crum, Lewis County, Kentucky, the daughter of Earl Benjamin and Jessie (Rouse) Redden. She was raised in Rushville, Indiana on a farm. Joyce graduated high school in 1952 and was valedictorian of her class.
Joyce married Richard F. Wilson on April 8, 1953 and he passed away in 2016. They were married 63 ½ years.
Joyce was a homemaker before working for Dr. Lowell Painter in Winchester for 17 years. She then was secretary to Dr. Painter's widow and his son, Dr. Robert Painter.
Joyce and her husband were member of the Disciples of Christ Church in Winchester for 45 years. She taught Adult Sunday School, sang in the choir and headed several committees. She and her husband were members of the Methodist Church in Winchester for 15 years.
Joyce will be missed for her grace, beauty and intelligence.
She is survived by her children: Mark F. Wilson, Winchester; Donna Wilson Haggenjos (husband Dr. Mark Haggenjos), Portland; and Murray C. Wilson (wife Debbie), Muncie.
She is also survived by three grandchildren: Dr. Lee Haggenjos (wife Stephanie Ruas); Lauren M. Haggenjos (husband Zachary Watson); and Dr. Liza M. Haggenjos.
In addition, she leaves behind two great grandchildren; one sister, Arla Redden Waits (husband Kenneth); one niece; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl Benjamin Redden and Jessie Rouse Redden and a niece.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Franklin St., Winchester, Indiana, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Memorials may be directed towards the donor's choice.
Arrangements entrusted to Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.

I am old and remember when Joyce was a nurse for Dr Painter. I was friends with her daughter in high school. I always wanted to be a nurse like her.
