Patricia J. Kegebein

Patricia Jane Kegebein, 82, of Verona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Oneida on April 27th, 1942; a daughter of the late Charles and Myrtie (Converse) Stellwagen.

She was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School. On April 30, 1960 she was united in marriage to her beloved husband Robert Kegebein for over 60 years. Patricia stayed home to raise her six children. Later she worked for many years as an administrative assistant to the Superintendent of Vernon Verona Sherrill Central School. Before retiring she was a part time assistant clerk for the Town of Verona.

Patricia's passions were her family, her dogs especially her Doberman's, dining out at her two favorite places - Knotty Pine for breakfast and Atuynote Clubhouse for lunch, following the Syracuse men's basketball team, watching her grandchildren play sports, and sitting on her back deck enjoying the sunshine with her family. She was a wonderful mother and a pillar of strength and support to us all. When she had an opinion, she was sure to share with everyone. She was the rock of the family, the glue that held everyone together.

Surviving are five children, Tracy Kegebein, Wallace Kegebein, Gregory Kegebein, Robert Kegebein III (Rebecca) and Douglas Kegebein; sisters Deborah (Stellwagen) Russell and Barb (Stellwagen) Eichles; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Kegebein and son, Michael Kegebein.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
