Patricia Klouda Obituary

Longtime Kenai Peninsula resident Patricia Louise Klouda passed away on May 16th in Soldotna at age 96.

Pat came to Alaska in 1945, where she arrived via the Alaska Steamship Company. She attended Anchorage High School and soon met and married Fred Klouda Sr., who had just returned home from the Army after serving in Europe in WWII. Together they raised their four children in Anchorage in 1950s and 60s, and fostered several others.

She was an outdoor enthusiast who loved the beauty and grandeur of Alaska. Pat and Fred retired to a home in Sterling in 1986.

Pat was an amazing mother and grandmother who will be long remembered for her wisdom, tenacity, and endless patience for kids: her grandchildren would remember her telling stories, singing songs, and imparting valuable life lessons.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Fred Klouda Sr., son Joe Klouda, sister Ann Jones, brother Grant Stafford, parents Ida and Maurice Stafford. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Yourth and Colleen Rankin, son Fred Klouda Jr; Grandchildren Tina Rickbeil, Melonie Klouda-Smith, Daniel Rankin, Ryan Rankin, Nolan Klouda, Rosanne Klouda, and Indianna Turkisher. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a great lady and was always very nice to me. I was and still am friends with her oldest son Fred. My condolences go out to all of her family members.
